Ivory Johnson, Jr.

Ivory Johnson, Jr. entered eternal rest within the arms of the Sovereign Architect of the Universe to “study war no more”, at the age of 48 on March 3, 2015. Ivory Johnson, Jr. was born on June 21, 1966, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Ivory Johnson, Sr. and Pearlie Mae Johnson.

 

 

After graduating from Watson Chapel High School, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served his nation proudly for 22 years. Ivory retired at the rank of Sergeant First Class. While serving in the United States Army he received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (7th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd award), South West Asia Service Medal, Korea Defense Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3rd award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th award), KU-LIB-MDI (Saudi Arabi), KU-LIB-MDL (Kuwait), Air Assault Badge, and Drill Sergeant Identification Badge. After retiring from the United States Army, Ivory worked the Department of Defense and the McLane Company (Temple, Texas) in the roles of a contractor and Logistics Assistant Representative.

 

Ivory Johnson, Jr.’s education consisted of earning an Associate in Applied Science degree, from Central Texas College, in 2005. In 2010, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland. Ivory also earned a Master of Business Administration from Trident University International in 2012.

On June 15, 2001, Retired Sergeant First Class (SFC) Ivory Johnson, Jr. was married to Aretha Alicia (Edwards in Killeen, Texas. With his devoted wife of 13 years, he shared a son Ishmael Johnson.

 

Ivory Johnson, Jr.’s was a “Masonic Giant in Texas Prince Hall Freemasonry”. Ivory was a Past Master and member of John G. Lewis No. 622 (Copperas Cove, Texas) of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas and its Jurisdiction where he also served as Grand Lecturer; Founder and President of the Texas Prince Hall University; Past Hight Priest and member of Mount Sinai Chapter No. 42 (Copperas Cove, Texas), of the Most Excellent Grand Chapter Holy Royal Arch Masons of Texas; Past Eminent Commander and a member South Central Commandery No. 37 (Killeen, Texas) of the Lone Star Grand Commander Order of Knights Templar, Prince Hall Affiliation, State of Texas and its Jurisdiction with honor of Honorary Past Right Eminent Grand Commander; Ed Blair Consistory No. 286 (Temple, Texas), United Supreme Council, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction, Prince Hall Affiliation; Grand Inspector General (33rd °) of the X.L. Neal Class of 2011 of Atlanta, Georgia.

 

Ivory’s remains lay at profound peace at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, in Killeen, Texas, on March 13, 2015.
